The Good, the Bad and the UGLY (pt. I)

Today's Awwwards winner caught my attention with a great idea and kept it with an outstanding web page. The site mcwhopper.com was pleasing in every single way:
The design was good, I only had to scroll down to navigate the page, and the background animation moving with the speed that I scrolled was actually a lot of fun.

The other website that I really enjoyed was http://www.thehappyforecast.com/.
It's another beautiful site that interacts with you and your mouse cursor.
It's main premise is to follow a map to an area in London that you are in or maybe will be and then predicts your overall all "happiness forecast" for the day. Not the most useful website but it was very well done.

One site that I did not really care for was http://www.testsandroid.com/. Compared to other nominees it was rather boring and I did not really care for switching from the left to right sides of the screen to read as I scrolled down.

After browsing Tumblr I stumbled across House of Buttons, a blog that features a collection of touchscreen buttons. Throughout my computer science classes I am constantly inspired to make smart phone apps. Once I get good enough to actually make one I imagine after seeing this blog it will be an ultra simplistic widget app.

Something that will control a certain smart light in my house
Something to control my audio volume
Maybe even a minimalist weather center
